General

What is Grownest?
Grownest is a compact, smart indoor garden system that uses hydroponic principles — water, LED light and smart timing — to grow herbs, leafy greens and small fruits, year-round, in your kitchen or living room. Minimal mess, minimal effort.
Which model should I choose (Lite / Lux / Pro)?
Quick guide:
Lite — plug & grow, simplest setup, ideal for beginners and small counters.
Lux — premium finish, app control and elegant design (8 pods).
Pro — higher capacity, sensors and advanced scheduling for power users and growers.
Choose by space, tech preference and how many plants you want to maintain at once.

Technology

Do I need Wi-Fi or an app?
Only Lux and Pro include wireless connectivity and app features. Lite runs offline on a built-in schedule. The app enables remote scheduling, notifications, and (on Pro) sensor readouts.
How does watering work?
Grownest uses a quiet circulation pump that waters plant sponges on a timed cycle. Tanks are sized to last 10–21 days depending on model and plant load. When refilling, we recommend filtered water and full nutrient refresh.
Is the system noisy or energy hungry?
No — all models are whisper-quiet (≤25 dB) and use low-power LED lighting (12–20W typical). The design balances brightness for growth with low energy consumption.

Plants & Growing

What should I plant? (best starter list)
Great beginner choices: basil, mint, parsley, chives, lettuce mixes, arugula, and microgreens. For small fruits try cherry tomatoes or mini peppers (in Lux/Pro for better control). Avoid deep-root vegetables (carrots, beets) and tall vines without support.
⌛ Sprouts in 3–5 days • Harvest in 2–6 weeks (varies)
Do I need special seeds or pods?
No special seeds required. Use untreated seeds for best results. We provide starter seed pods, but you can refill with standard seeds in compatible sponges.
How often to change water & nutrients?
Recommended: full refresh every 10–21 days (depending on model & plant density). When refreshing, clean the tank and add new nutrient solution at the recommended dosage (see user guide / label).

Care & Maintenance

How to clean the system?
Empty the tank, remove sponges, rinse with warm water. Use a soft cloth for the lid and LED cover. Do not use strong detergents — mild soap only if needed. For deep clean, follow steps in the PDF manual.
How to prevent algae?
Keep the tank covered, refresh solution regularly, and avoid placing the unit in direct strong sunlight. Cleaning between cycles and using filtered water helps a lot.
Recommended water type?
Filtered or distilled water reduces mineral deposits. Tap water is OK in many areas — if your tap is very hard, consider filtered water to protect pump components.

Troubleshooting

My plants look leggy — what to do?
Leggy growth typically means not enough light or plants too close. Try: shorten harvest intervals, prune tops to encourage bushier regrowth, and ensure LED is set to correct mode (Veg vs Flower).
Pump not running — how to check?
Check power connection, ensure tank is seated properly and topped up. If Lux/Pro with app shows an error, follow the troubleshooting section in the app or manual. Contact support if issue persists.
Leaves turning yellow — why?
Possible nutrient imbalance or over-watering between refresh cycles. Replace solution and check dosing. If persistent, try fresh seeds and a deep clean.

Warranty & Support

What warranty do you offer?
All Grownest units include a 24-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects (terms apply). Keep your receipt and register the device via the support page to activate warranty benefits.
How to contact support?
Email us at support@grownest.eu, send a DM on Facebook Grownest, or use the contact form on our website. For faster service, include model, purchase date and photos of the issue.

Advanced tips & experiments

Boosting flavor (culinary tips)
For stronger herbs: harvest selectively (don't cut more than ⅓ at once), provide stable environment and slightly reduce water change frequency to encourage flavor concentration. For basil: pinch regularly for bushier plants and more aromatic leaves.
Using Grownest for propagation / cuttings
Place a cutting into a sponge with clean water; ensure humidity and gentle light. Many herbs root quickly — once roots form, transfer to a pod with nutrients and continue in Grownest.
